Valid Concern Expressed.

Island-born have a claim to a piece of Maui
POSTED: August 31, 2009 (Maui News LTE)

It's shameful that some Hawaiians don't acknowledge "our" state, yet they are the very ones who are receiving financial aid from the state. Why take anything? Live off the land.

I was born and raised in Puunene town, moved Upcountry when I was 11 years of age. Life has changed drastically, not all for the good, but we must learn to accept it.

I am not of Hawaiian ancestry but I feel being from Hawaii I deserve a piece of it too, not only Hawaiian-ancestry people.

  1. Thank you for your comments June. Your point is well taken. The United States and the State of Hawaii needs to come to an end. They had it over a hundred years and kapulu the land. Lepo the sea. Let us look at the legal history of Hawaii and move on. The present governments do not like Hawaiians and that is why we fight. Oh financial aid and welfare is not payment buy cheap rent.

  2. Aloha e June,

If you really study and research the true history of Hawaii and it's subject/citizens, you will see that you do have a interest to these lands, because the Hawaiian Kingdom is about Nationality, not ethnicity.

    Mahalo for your concern,
    Kaleo
